Our tour starts at Glasgow Cathedral, the heart of the medieval town, and takes us through Glasgow Green to George Square, the hub of the present-day city. We continue through the centre, with its magnificent and world-renowned architecture, to the West End, home to Glasgow University, the Botanic Gardens, and a number of museums and art galleries.
We then make our way to the river and the modern conference and concert venues that now occupy the sites of the former quays and docks. On the way back into the city, we pass the main theatres, concert halls, and shopping areas.
This tour explores the World Heritage site of the Old Town and New Town of Edinburgh. We will drive through the elegant streets of the 18th century New Town, with its Georgian architecture and private gardens, and see the Neo-Greek architecture of many of the 19th century public buildings.
The tour continues through the Old Town, with views of the Castle and St Giles Cathedral, and along parts of the famous Royal Mile to the Scottish Parliament Building and the Palace of Holyrood House. There is a short drive through Holyrood Park before returning to the New Town.
Combine your half-day city tour with a visit to one of the many historical sites or museums and galleries offered in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, or with a half-day trip, for example to:
